Other than being a musician and a professional guitar teacher, Brendan McLaughlin is also a software architect and computer programmer and has been for over 12 years.

The most recent project i just completed was a long term project working on a Radiology Practice Management System.
A large enterprise multi function management system to manage every aspect of a Radiology Practice from Patient arrival to radiologist reporting, transcription and dictation to doctor referrer report delivery. This system is also the first of its kind to include ALL functions of a radiology practice in one application and server.

The software is currently in use at Bundaberg Radiology and Hillcrest Rockhampton. This software is 100% Australian owned, made and supported.

Employed by Contrast Imaging Solutions as a software architect to write and maintain a Radiology Information System (RIS).
As a key part of the design and development phase, I developed of alot of the core front end systems and server side components including, the multi-threaded workflow processing engine, document management controller system, appointment scheduling and resource management system and a number of other key components for the system.

The RIS was designed for the small business in mind as it utilised a Firebird SQL Database backend and was prepared for use with Oracle as well. The functional side of the RIS was designed with business process management systems in mind modelled around standard radiology business process.

Also with the document service, the RIS handles storage of documents in a controlled process like enterprise size document management systems.
