After deciding that I would like to travel around part of Australia on my motorbike, I started to buy the equipment and accessories necessary for such a trip (cooker, tapes, cruise-control etc). One day I was putting the gear on the bike to see if it all fitted. After a while I stopped, stood back, and thought 'ha! It all fits. Hey, there's nothing else I need. Wow! I could actually leave NOW if I wanted to." - So I did.
Here's a snappy with the bike loaded.
Leaving Melbourne, I pointed the bike forward and rode until it came to night-time. I found this clearing to pitch my tent a little before Lakes Entrance. Since I arrived at night, I only had my headlight to see what I was doing, but even then I found it hard to find those damned holes for the sticks, and I was a bit road tired, so I stuck my sleeping bag inside and slept with the tent flat.
After a walk along the beach, it was lunch-time.
